CBC’s Search Engine is awesome; therefore, cancelled

From Cory Doctorow at Boing Boing:

Last year, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation created a new radio show, Search Engine, to chronicle the shifts being wrought upon global culture and politics as a consequence of technology. It was smart, funny, broke important stories, changed Canadian politics, won awards, and was a global success.

So the CBC cancelled it.

A Facebook group has formed to fight for the much beloved show, which, among other acts of public citizenship, steadfastly monitored the atrocious Bill C-61 on our behalf. One may join that group HERE.

The much-discussed and damning podcast episode — the show’s last — wherein the Honourable Minister Prentice demonstrates his inability to understand or discuss his own bill, is embedded below, or at a static link from CBC.

Wonder if this had anything to do with the end of CBC’s Search Engine?
