Obama takes it, as seen from Halifax

I imagine you’ve seen it — but if you haven’t, I’ll save you the searching.

Letter-perfect. An astounding display of charisma that is both inspiring and chilling with its efficacy.

I had the specific privilege of watching the primary event with a group of highly engaged young Canadians — campus leaders and policy addicts with homes from sea to shining sea. Aside from sharing with them a particular passion in progressive politics, the experience acquired an inexplicably warm and exciting quality. Knowing that hard work and cooperation for change and a renewed belief in service isn’t just an Obama talking point, but is being played out here in Halifax and across the country, will be the most important thing I take home.

It’s been a good week.
