Mike Soron's Biography.
Mike Soron was born in Calgary, Alberta and re-located to Vancouver, British Columbia with his partner in 2009. In Vancouver, he completed a Masters of Urban Studies at Simon Fraser University. He served as the elected head of the Graduate Student Society at SFU from May 2011 to April 2012. He received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Calgary, where he returned to work for students in government relations and student affairs.
He has done research work on climate change governance, transportation and property development in global cities, pedestrianization and peak oil, and youth participatory governance and budgeting. Mike's main research was on the urban politics of Vancouver's Greenest City Action Plan.
Mike works as an activist in areas of human rights, the environment, nonviolence, transparency, and public space and mobility.
