The Big TED Viz

This year’s was TED doubtlessly the most watched and discussed yet. I dream, as many do, of not only one day attending, but of being called to service, to speak — nay — to pay homage, to that which is TED.

In the meantime, I have the TED BigViz. It is a visualization of the event’s “Big Questions” as captured by two sketch artists throughout.

A new, 200-page book has been produced chronicling this… uh… chronicling.

While merely a subtle taste of TED, the PDF gets me excited to spend the next 12 months trudging through TEDTalks and arguing with Jason about whether or not the event is simply effete elite self-congratulatory navel-gazing or genuine world-changing.

Somewhere in between, perhaps?

I’ve watched quite a few of the TED videos recently — some excellent presentations.

The BigViz stuff is an interesting process that gives me some more to think about regarding documenting presentations and dialogue (particularly for some of the future events I’m working on or considering).
